| Dear Parents,
It’s time to register your children for on-going Faith Formation.
We
have classes and other programs for children in all grades 1-12,
English and Spanish, and preparation for all the Sacraments of
Initiation (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation) and Reconciliation.
And
we have opportunities for you to get involved, too!
Listed below
are the types of programs and classes offered. Please check the
schedules below very carefully and choose what you think will work best
for your family.
Elementary faith formation (grades 1-6): Classes in English (beginning September 14): Mondays 3:30-4:30pm grades 2, 6 Mondays 5:00-6:00pm grades 1, 3, 4 Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm grades 1, 5 Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm grade 2 Classes in Spanish (beginning September 19): Saturdays 9:00-10:00am grades 1, 2, 3 Saturdays 10:30-11:30am grades 2, 4, 5/6 First Communion/First Reconciliation preparation programs: - 2 years class attendance required - during second year: completion of home study program for each Sacrament and Family Gatherings required (see schedule next page) - weekly Mass attendance Home Study option (for those not preparing to receive a sacrament): - parent guides, textbooks and supplement materials provided Liturgy of the Word for Children: - free materials available in the vestibule of the church Junior High Youth Ministry (grades 7-8, beginning September 13): Come to the Junior High Youth Group on Sundays at 4:30-5:30pm in the parish hall and stay for LIFE TEEN Mass on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm. LIFE TEEN Youth Ministry (grades 9-12, beginning September 13): Begins with a lively LIFE TEEN Mass every Sunday at 6:00pm and continues with LIFE NIGHT gatherings at 7:30-9:00pm in the parish hall. Dinner provided! Confirmation preparation: one year in our parish faith formation program prior to preparation call the faith formation office for an interview before September 13. Parent information meeting: Sunday, August 23 at 7:30pm. Family Gatherings All families and all family members are welcome to these gatherings. Participation is required for families preparing to receive Sacraments. Thursday, October 22 7:30-9:00pm Scripture & Prayer Wednesday, November 18 7:30-9:00pm Sacraments & Advent Thursday, February 11 7:30-9:00pm Reconciliation & Lent Thursday, March 18 7:30-9:00pm The Mass To register
ALL your children for any of the above
programs, please fill out one registration
form per family.
Make sure to fill in the space
marked
PROGRAM DAY AND TIME for each child. Classes will be assigned on
a
first come, first served basis. We try to keep the elementary
classes
below 15 children.
The program fees are: $75 per child OR $100 per family. You
do not have to pay the fee all at once, but please pay what you can at
the time of registration. Tuition assistance is available for
families
in need. You may mail in your registration, drop it off at the
parish
office, drop it in the collection basket when you come to Mass, or stop
by my office during office hours.
NEW FAMILIES! I’d like to meet you, so try to register in person!
Our parish also offers other opportunities for faith formation of
adults. If you or someone you know has not yet received all the
Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation) join the
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. They meet weekly
during the year and the Sacraments are celebrated at Easter. We
also
have many Small Faith Communities, which meet regularly in homes all
year long. And of course, the various ministries in our parish
always
need volunteers. Just call the parish office at 790-3207 or check
